Hair Loss Center of Excellence
Hair loss treatment starts with finding the cause. We combine expert scalp evaluation, in-office labs, prescription therapy, platelet-rich plasma, and clinically validated REVIAN RED® red light therapy in one practice.
What We Treat
All Types of Hair Loss
Hair loss has many possible causes, and the right treatment depends on which one is driving yours. We diagnose and treat the full range of hair loss conditions, including those that are often missed in shorter appointments.
Pattern hair loss
Male and female pattern hair loss look different, but are the most common forms of hair loss.
Hormonal and medical
PCOS is a common, undertreated cause; liver or kidney disease and scalp infections can also contribute.
Medication-induced
Weight-loss drugs have helped many people, but they and other medications can trigger significant hair thinning.
Autoimmune hair loss
Alopecia areata, lupus, and related conditions can cause patchy or diffuse thinning.
Stress-related hair loss
Telogen effluvium, triggered by illness, injury, surgery, or a major life event, can cause hair to shed temporarily.
Nutritional causes
Inadequate iron stores, zinc, and vitamin D deficiency are more common than once thought, and insurance rarely covers testing.
More Than Injections Or Prescriptions
A Holistic Approach
Most hair loss care falls into one of two camps: medspas inject, and dermatology practices prescribe. For most patients, neither is enough on its own, because hair loss usually has several overlapping causes that need to be addressed together.
SkinWise sits in the middle. We start with a proper diagnostic workup to find what’s actually driving your thinning. We prescribe the topical and oral medications with the strongest evidence behind them. We offer in-office procedures like PRP that can speed up or build on medical care. And we recommend the at-home device our research found to be the best complement to those treatments. Through all of it, we walk you through the risks, benefits, costs, and realistic expectations.
Our Four-Step Plan
Diagnose
We begin with a thorough scalp exam, and an in-office biopsy when needed. We rule out scalp disorders like psoriasis, lichen planopilaris, and frontal fibrosing alopecia, then draw the hair-loss lab panels that matter, often at lower cost.
Treat
Once we've identified the cause, we prescribe the therapy with the strongest evidence behind it: minoxidil (topical or oral), finasteride, dutasteride, or spironolactone, matched to what's driving your hair loss and monitored as your plan progresses.
Stimulate
For patients who want to accelerate results, we offer in-office PRP (platelet-rich plasma). Using growth factors from your own blood, it stimulates dormant follicles, with results that build over a series of treatments alongside your medical plan.
Reinforce
At-home tools reinforce the work we do in the office. We recommend the Revian LED cap, a clinically validated red light device, and our affiliate link offers a discount off the usual online price. Caps are also available in-office.
Our Treatments
Hair Loss Treatments, All in One Place
Scalp Evaluation & Labs
The diagnostic foundation: a thorough scalp exam plus the specific lab panels that matter for hair loss. Because these labs are rarely covered by insurance and can be expensive elsewhere, our in-office pricing is set just to cover our costs.
Prescription Therapy
Evidence-backed medications: minoxidil (topical or oral), finasteride, dutasteride, and spironolactone. For some cases, options like JAK inhibitors may help; we'll walk you through the risks and benefits and monitor for side effects.
PRP Injections
Platelet-rich plasma uses growth factors from your own blood to stimulate struggling follicles. Results build over a series of treatments and work well alongside medical therapy.
Red Light Therapy
After a lot of research, we chose to partner with the Revian® LED cap, an FDA-cleared device backed by solid clinical data. Patients can buy in-office or through our affiliate link for a better price than they'll typically find online.
Realistic Expectations
What Hair Loss Treatment Actually Looks Like
Hair loss treatment takes time. Hair grows in cycles, and visible regrowth usually requires three to six months of consistent treatment. We’ll set realistic expectations at your first visit, schedule regular follow-ups to track progress, and adjust your plan based on what we’re seeing.
Some patients notice early stabilization (less shedding) within the first month or two, with visible regrowth typically following. PRP results build over a series of three to four monthly sessions, with maintenance every six to twelve months.
We won’t promise overnight changes, and we won’t push treatments that aren’t likely to work for your specific situation.
Red Light Therapy
Why We Recommend REVIAN RED®
Not all light therapy is created equal, so we did the homework before choosing one to stand behind. REVIAN RED is an FDA-cleared, all-LED cap that uses two wavelengths of light (620 and 660 nm) and is clinically studied to promote hair growth. It’s hands-free, takes about 10 minutes a day, and pairs with an app that tracks your progress, which makes it one of the easier treatments to actually stick with.
Patients can order through our affiliate link for a discount off the usual online price, or pick one up right in the office.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked About Hair Loss
Yes. We treat male and female pattern hair loss and all other causes of thinning, with treatment plans tailored to each patient.
Yes. After extensive research on light-based treatments for hair loss, we chose to partner with Revian, the maker of an FDA-cleared LED cap supported by sound clinical evidence. The partnership lets us offer patients savings compared with typical online pricing, and we keep a small in-office inventory for convenient purchase.
Insurance coverage for hair loss is variable; some companies consider most hair loss cosmetic. Many dermatologists don’t prioritize it because of time and reimbursement constraints. Labs are often necessary but not always covered, and our in-office labs are generally far more affordable. Oral prescriptions usually go through insurance, though compounded prescriptions will not. As a direct-care practice, we value transparency and will walk you through any costs involved.
Costs vary based on your diagnosis and severity. Initial evaluation and lab work, prescription therapy, in-office procedures like PRP, and at-home devices each have separate pricing, all listed transparently. We’ll walk you through expected costs at your first visit.
PRP has clinical evidence supporting its use for androgenetic alopecia and certain other types of hair loss. It works best as part of a combination plan, alongside prescription therapy and at-home support. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a good fit for your specific situation.
Most treatments take three to six months before visible results, since hair grows in cycles. We’ll set realistic expectations at your first visit and check in regularly to track progress.
If you’re noticing thinning, increased shedding, a widening part, or visible scalp where you didn’t see it before, it’s worth getting evaluated. Early diagnosis means more treatment options and better long-term outcomes. There’s no benefit to waiting.
We treat all major causes of hair loss: androgenetic alopecia (genetic), alopecia areata (autoimmune), telogen effluvium (stress-related), hormonal hair loss, and inflammatory causes. We also evaluate underlying medical conditions like thyroid disease, iron deficiency, and vitamin D deficiency that often contribute to thinning.
